How to remove your makeup correctly

Leaving on makeup longer than necessary can clog pores, especially if it is thick makeup or there is a lot on. Removing makeup as soon as you are finished with it is key to keeping gorgeous skin, especially overnight. However, it can be tricky to make sure all of it is gone.

To properly remove makeup, all you need is a proper facial cleanser and eye makeup remover. The goal is not to rub your face raw and don't forget to wash into the hairline and jawline, especially if you use foundation.

Before you begin, you must wash your hands with a soft soap or cleansing foam.

Use a gentle makeup remover just for eye makeup. Regular makeup remover can irritate the eyes. Make sure you get most, if not all, of any eyeliner and mascara you had on, as well as some eyeshadow.

Drape a towel over your head and hold it over a sink of hot, steaming water. This opens your pores and dislodges your makeup easier for cleansing.

Apply a small dab of petrolatum jelly to your lips, and gently rub it in with a tissue. Fold in the tissue, and blot the lips.

Most of your makeup should come off on this stage. Be sure the face wash is gentle and you don't scrub harshly. Your skin has been covered in makeup all day and it needs to breathe!

It's pretty common to see a bit of mascara or eyeliner under your eyes, and very easy to remove with a dampened cotton swab.

Facial cosmetics and their expiration date

Still hanging on to that stub of your favorite discontinued lipstick? You may not realize it but makeup expires! Using expired makeup can lead to serious skin irritation, breakouts, and infection.

Facial cosmetics are very delicate and can do more harm than good if you do not keep track of their expiration date. Yes, cosmetics have an expiration date, just as medical products do and you should remove them from your cosmetics bag as soon as this date is past. Find out when it's time to let go with this simple guide!

READING THE EXPIRATION DATE
The FDA does not require cosmetic companies to provide expiration dates on beauty products but a few brands list them anyway! Like food labels, some cosmetics have the month, date, and year printed on the package. Others have a symbol of a jar with an open lid, number, and letter. The open lid means the expiration date applies once the product is opened or the seal is removed. The letter is usually an "M" for month or "Y" for year. So if you see "12 M" on the symbol that means the product will last up to 12 months after it has been opened.

MASCARA
Shelf-life: 2 - 3 months
Mascara is a product that you should be extra careful with,This is a product based on water, so it is a breeding ground for bacteria, How to tell: As soon as you notice it's getting clumpy or smells weird, toss it out!
Rule: Stop sharing mascara! This is a guaranteed way to spread germs.

LOTION
Shelf-life: 2 years
How to tell: A change in color or scent is a dead giveaway for expired lotion!
Tip: Go for a bottle with a pump rather than one in a jar. Lotion with a pump is less prone to airborne bacteria meaning it will last longer because is much more sanitary.

LIQUID FOUNDATION / CONCEALER
Shelf-life: 6 -12 months.
How to tell: If it has separated into layers or the color has lightened, it's time to buy a new one!
Tip: Keep makeup out of sunlight. UV rays can destroy preservatives which will make your products spoil faster.
Concealer: Wand applicator concealers should be tossed within 6 months since they’re likely to grow bacteria. Stick, twist-up tubes, or compact concealers can last up to 12 months, especially if you use a makeup brush to apply the product.

LIPSTICK / LIPGLOSS
Shelf-life: 2 years for lipstick, 1 year for gloss.
How to tell: If you notice your lipstick has become dry or your gloss is extra sticky, they've probably gone bad!
Rule: Testing out shades at the makeup counter is totally fine but never apply directly from the tube. Ask an associate to disinfect it for you then apply with a disposable applicator.

POWDER FOUNDATION, BLUSH, & EYESHADOW
Shelf-life: 2 years.
How to tell: Expired powders tend to be more dry and flaky than new ones.
Rule: Invest in a cosmetic sanitizer and brush shampoo! Cleaning your makeup and tools on a regular basis will help prevent both bacteria growth and breakouts!

FRAGRANCES
Shelf-life: 8 - 10 years!
How to tell: Perfumes that are starting to smell different or lighten in color are definitely expired!
Tip: Bright lights make perfumes oxidize faster. Store them in cool, dark places to make them last longer!

NAIL POLISH
Shelf-life: 1 - 2 years.
How to tell: If the polish is extra goopy or has separated into layers and won't blend after a quick shake, it's time to let it go!
Tip: Next time you're in the beauty aisle, grab a nail polish thinner which is a cheap and easy way to increase the longevity of your favorite polish! Stick with these rules for a healthy beauty routine—your skin will thank you for it!

EYE AND LIP PENCILS
Eye and lip pencils,If you sharpen them every few days, makeup pencils can last a year or longer. It’s time to trash them when they become dry, crumbly, and hard to apply.

ALL NATURAL COSMETICS
All-natural cosmetics: Because these products do not contain preservatives, they should be used or discarded within 6 months.

Here are some more tips that will help you make the most of your makeup:
1. Don’t ever share cosmetics.
2. Don’t put your fingers into the product. Use the applicator
provided, or a makeup sponge.
3. Keep containers tightly closed, and store them in a cool, dry place.
4. Don’t use water or saliva to ease the application of a product. Doing so
introduces bacteria into the product, which can cause a host of problems.
5. Immediately toss the product out if there is a change of color, texture,
or consistency; if the ingredients settle or separate; or if an odor develops.

How to care for dry skin

Dry skin is usually sensitive and, since winter tends to worsen the condition, it requires thorough care. The best approach to managing dry skin is to avoid using commercial creams and lotions that contain mineral oils and other petroleum products.

Every morning after showering, pat your entire body with virgin coconut oil, cocoa butter, or shea butter. They contain naturally occurring nourishing ingredients, such as essential oils, skin-friendly Vitamins A, C, D and E, and protein.

Avoid the use of tap water when cleansing dry skin. The deposits are too drying on the skin. Use mineral water to freshen your face.

Cleanse your dry skin regularly. Make sure your skin gets extra careful protection. Washing dry skin with soap and water not only removes grime but also the natural oils protecting the skin. A moisturizer increases the water content of the outer layers of the skin and gives it a soft, moist look.

Use non detergent, neutral-pH products to cleanse your skin. Avoid using any commercial soap. And always touch your face gently. Double-cleanse with a cream, leaving a light, thin trace of it on the skin after the second cleansing.

Follow a bath or a shower with a mild application of baby oil. Massage your face with home-made nourishing cream every night before retiring. Be generous with the cream in the areas surrounding the eyes where tiny lines and crows feet are born.

apply a thin film of air-excluding moisturizer, this will restore the suppleness of the dry skin.

Shaving can irritate dry skin. As you shave unwanted hair, you're also scraping off natural oils.
The best time to shave is after you shower, according to the American Academy of Dermatology. Hairs are softer and more pliable after bathing, making shaving easier.

Always use a shaving cream or gel, and shave in the direction the hair is growing to protect your skin.
Make sure the razor is sharp. A dull razor blade can cause additional irritation. Change your razor blades often. If you are using a blade you've used before, soak it in rubbing alcohol to clean it.

Sun damage is one of the main causes behind dry skin, wrinkles, and roughness. You can help prevent that damage by wearing a broad-spectrum SPF 30 sunscreen year-round and dressing right.
In cool weather, Cambio says, be sure to "dress in layers to prevent overheating and perspiring excessively; both can irritate the skin."

To prevent dry, chapped lips in winter, use a lip balm with SPF 15 sunscreen, and cover your lips with a scarf or a hat with a mask.

In summer, wear light, loose, long-sleeved shirts when out in the sun, and wear a 2-inch wide-brimmed hat to shade your neck, ears, and eyes.

Makeup for ladies with dark complexion

Women with darker skin should use golden beige face powder one tone darker than their complexion. Use an even darker tone over the most prominent part of the cheekbones. Foundation should definitely be of the kind that has nourishing properties.

If you have dark eyes and you think they need emphasizing use brown or light-brown pencil or liquid eyeliner and silver-beige, beige or light-brown eye-shadows. Apply shadows with patting motions, without rubbing.

Start by applying shadows to the inner corner of the eye. Secondly, cover the eyelid and follow with outer corner of the eye and the area just below the eyebrow. The shades on the lower eyelid are applied last.

The shades used on the inner corner of the eye should be silvery beige. They will optically enlarge the eye making it look more “open”. Use beige nuances immediately beneath the eyebrows and gradually blend them with the almond-shaped light-brown tones used on the lid.

The eyebrow contour must be perfect because eyebrows are the detail that makes up your whole expression. Underline them with a brown pencil and use brown volume mascara for your lashes.

Wear a darker blush color. However, blush is always nice to wear on special occasions. Coral, deep orange and wine blush colors typically look the best on dark complexions. Apply blush to the apples of your cheeks with a blush brush. If your blush is not showing up on your skin, apply a crème blush under it to increase the intensity.

Avoid pale, frosty lip colors,Pale, frosty lip colors look unflattering on dark skin tones. Lilac and nude lip colors tend to wash out women with dark complexions. Choose shades like burgundy, wine, brown, red and plum. Add a clear lip gloss on top so your lips look extra shiny.

Now you look like a perfect oriental beauty.

The eternal question that exasperates every man...Why do women have so many shoes?

How many of us women have heard that question before? Most men just don’t get it! It’ simple! Let’s sum it up for them…And while we’re at it, let’s tell them why we love shoes too! We do! We love our shoes!

For a woman the beautiful shoe is the most important piece of the clothing. You must have seen a group of women watching with undisguised delight a shop window. Behind the window there are shoes, and again shoes. And still is not detected the cause of this so obsessive affection of the women to the shoes.
Men cannot understand this passion. For them, the shoe is just a shoe. While for the woman it is an art. Therefore she enjoys them and collects them like works of art. And keeps them just as jealously.

You see…the truth is women are in love with shoes…and we need a lot of them!

Here are some of The Reasons Why Women Are In Love With Shoes And Why Women Need So Many Of Them:

1.  We have choices: What woman wants to get up day after day and wear the same old shoe? Unless women are wearing uniforms to work and have no choice about it, not many! We wear different clothes everyday, so we need to have just as many shoe choices as well!

2. We need variety: So now that we’ve established we have choices, we need a variety of shoes to choose from when putting together the perfect outfit. Just think of how different your dress will look with boots vs stilettos. The shoes can make the outfit work…or fail!

3.  It’s a great deal:  Let’s admit it, ladies. We have all purchased at least one pair of shoes just because they were on sale! Of course, they fit well and looked great too, but it’s hard to pass up a good deal on shoes…especially when we can justify that we can wear them later, and we will!

4.  They make us feel good: It’s just like having a good hair day! When you put on that perfect pair of shoes, you feel like you “can conquer the world.” Well, us women do anyway…for men, maybe it’s the perfect power suit or driving that perfect car…for some of us women, it’s the perfect pair of shoes!

5.  They last a long time: Since we have so many shoes, and we don’t wear the same ones on a daily basis, they usually last for a long time! Provided we are buying quality brands, this is true. With shoes, like it or not, you get what you pay for!

6. They’re an investment: When we splurge on those designer heels or boots, we know it is an investment. And we take great care of that investment so that they do last a long time. Like I previously mentioned, those high end shoes hold their value because they last so long!

7.  They’re our BFFs: Someone once said a diamond is a girl’s best friend, right? Well, I am here to tell you that a shoe is a woman’s best friend! We love them, and they love us back (or at least that’s what we believe)!

Ladies, please feel free to add some more reasons why we love our shoes and why we need so many of them…let’s educate the men so that they understand and know what to get us for our next birthday/holiday, ok?

shoe lovers

I love shoes and when i go to the store and there is a really cute pair of shoes i have to buy them.

My Shoe Addiction is dedicated to providing very stylish and affordable apparel such as high and low end shoes.

I’ve had many people ask me, “Why do women love shoes?” And I never quite know what to say. Who am I to speak for all women? Who says that all women love shoes? Why does it matter anyway?

And yet I sometimes catch myself wondering why it is that I love shoes as much as I do. Because there are many marvelous elements within my wardrobe, but I am most emotionally attached to my shoes.

And there’s definitely something to the idea that shoes are likely to fit and look amazing no matter how much weight you’ve lost or how bloated you feel, no matter how tired or crabby or upset you are. Shoes are a constant within outfits. They’re reliable. If they look great at 6 a.m., they’ll still look great at 9 p.m.

Shoes also have the power to transform outfits. A romantic, floaty, diaphanous outfit can get a dose of rocker with the addition of some hardware-encrusted stilettos. A preppy ensemble goes instantly punk when combat boots get added to the mix. Just add shoes and watch things shift.

But it occurred to me that shoes are also connected to ideas of travel, movement, and agility. We walk on them, rely on them to protect us from the streets and the weather, and our movements are aided or impeded by them. This lends them a considerable amount of power within our daily lives.

Yet they are somehow also imbued with power themselves. They influence our stance, posture, and overall physical demeanor. They make us feel taller, steadier, faster, sexier, capable of great feats. Shoes are powerful.

As you can see from these photos, I consider heels to be my power shoes. Much as I am enjoying this unseasonably warm weather, Nobody talks about “ass-kicking heels,” ya know? There’s something especially mythic about heels, something rough and raw that seeps up into the wearer. I feel most like myself and most powerful when I’ve got on an amazing pair of heels.

Are you a shoe lover yourself? Do you have a style that you consider to be your personal version of “power shoes”? Or a particular pair that makes you feel like a Goddess? What is it about them that makes them so special?

Quick tips on applying day makeup

Concealer: Apply it first to the innermost corners of the eyes and evenly spread it with your index finger blending it to the surrounding skin. Cover any other skin defects, such as pigment spots or pimples.

Foundation: Apply evenly to the whole face always striving to achieve as natural look as possible.

Powder: Apply freely with a brush to fixate makeup.

Eyebrows: First remove the extra hairs with tweezers if necessary. Underline the eyebrows with eyebrow pencil and brush them upward and outward with an eyebrow brush. You can use eye shadows instead of eyebrow pencil. Apply them with a small applicator brush and smooth out with your finger to achieve a softer and more natural look.

Eyeliner: Use it to highlight the eyes with the appropriate color.

Eye shadows: Use natural tones over the eyelids and darker tones in the fold of the upper eyelid and the outer corner of the eye.

Mascara: Apply to eye lashes in order to lengthen or thicken them as needed.

Blush: Should be applied over the cheekbone with upward strokes.

Lipstick and lip liner: Use lipstick one tone darker than your natural lip color. Trace the lips with a pencil in the same tone. Mix the pencil with the lipstick using a small lipstick brush to create a more natural look. Finally add a touch of lip gloss to make the lips juicy and attractive.

Cultivating a Godly Child

Did you know that over two million children are leaving the church each year when they reach adulthood?  Some of the “wolves” that are devouring our “lambs” and a solution.

An old Chinese proverb says, "One generation plants the trees, and another gets the shade." You and I are still benefiting from the shade provided by trees planted by our parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents. We are shaded, to some degree, by their moral standards and spiritual commitment.

Delinquent from Birth?

What can we do to give our children the proper shade? The apostle Paul tells us in Ephesians 6:4. But before he gives us our responsibilities, he gives the children a few commands: "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise), that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the earth"

God calls all children to be obedient and respectful. Obedience is the act; honor is the attitude. Neither come naturally, however. The Minnesota Crime Commission acknowledged that when it issued this report appointed by the governor back in 1926: "Every baby starts life as a little savage. He is completely selfish and self-centered. He wants what he wants when he wants it: his bottle, his mother's attention, his playmate's toys, his uncle's watch, or whatever. Deny him these and he seethes with rage and aggressiveness which would be murderous were he not so helpless. He's dirty, he has no morals, no knowledge, no developed skills. This means that all children, not just certain children but all children, are born delinquent. If permitted to continue in their self-centered world of infancy, given free reinto their impulsive actions to satisfy each want, every child would grow up a criminal, a thief, a killer, a rapist."

Don't Provoke Your Children

By saying "don't provoke your children," Paul was referring to the kind of behavior that exasperates or discourages your children so they become frustrated.

How do parents provoke their children? Here are some of the ways:

1. Overprotection. If you want to really frustrate your children, fence them in, don't trust them, and don't give them enough opportunity to develop any independence. When you prevent your children from taking any risks, you'll create in them an angry mood, especially when they consider what their friends are allowed to do. Don't forget that your children are people who need to learn to face life on their own. Give them some slack and they'll learn the best way kids learn: by hitting the wall now and then. But if you overprotect them, you'll exasperate them.

2. Favoritism. Don't compare your children with each other. Each is unique. Each is a gift from God. When you compare, the less-talented or less-popular child will be devastated. He or she will tend to become discouraged, resentful, withdrawn, and bitter.

3. Overemphasizing achievement. If you continually push them to excel, your children won't have a sense of having accomplished anything. Nothing ever seems good enough: if they get C's, you demand B's. If they get B's, you demand A's. And when they get A's, you still aren't satisfied. Such parents always find something to complain about.

4. Overindulgence. Give them everything they want. But the one time you don't, they'll have a fit. That attitude will carry on into adulthood, only then they'll be on the job. What will happen when they don't get the promotion or perk they think they deserve?

5. Discouragement. Tell them all the time that they'll never amount to anything, that they're useless and always in the way. Don't give them any rewards, any approval, or any honor. Eventually you'll either destroy their initiative or drive them to seek approval elsewhere.

6. Failure to make personal sacrifices. Leave them alone all the time. Make them fend for themselves. Make them fix their own meals, buy their own food and clothing, provide their own transportation. Don't take them places because you can't be bothered. Turn them into slaves around the house to do all your work. When you don't make any sacrifices for them, they'll resent you.

7. Failure to allow for childish limitations. Have you ever been at a table where a child spilled some milk and youthought the parents had just seen the Holocaust? Or the child makes a fanciful suggestion, and the parent tells him his idea is stupid? Let your children share some of their ridiculous ideas without criticizing them. Don't expect perfection, just progress.

8. Neglect. A youth pastor overheard his little boy in the backyard talking to a friend next door. The friend said, "I gotta go now--I'm going to the park with my dad." The little boy replied, "Oh, my dad doesn't have time to go to the park with me--he's too busy with other people's children." That comment shattered the pastor's heart, but it changed his focus. Don't neglect your children; be involved in their lives.

9. Physical and verbal abuse. Verbal abuse may not be as obvious a problem as physical abuse, but realize this: Your tongue is much sharper than a child's. With your superior vocabulary you're capable of using ridicule and sarcasm to slice up the poor child, just like you can beat him up because of your superior strength. The result of either will provoke your child to anger and resentment.

Portrait of a Godly Husband

A godly husband loves his wife sacrificially. He seeks diligently to understand her. He lovingly teaches her the truths of God's Word, and seeks to live out the truths of Scripture in his own conduct. He is concerned about the spiritual well being of his wife, and prays with her and for her on a regular basis. He does not rule over her. He is to be the biggest servant in the family, and finds more joy in serving than in being served. He follows through on his commitments. He takes seriously his responsibility to lead and shepherd his family knowing that it is to the Lord he must give an account. He listens attentively to his wife, so as to grow in his knowledge of her. He realizes she is not “one of the boys” and treats her with gentleness at all times. He places her interests above his own.

Be a Spiritual Leader

Your wife probably came into the marriage with some idealized image of the 2 of you beginning each day around the breakfast table with some fresh-squeezed orange juice, doing devotions together.

She imagined you leaving for work and saying, "I'll be back this evening, and we can have devotions again."

About a month into the marriage, your wife was probably thinking, What happened? Reading the Scriptures and praying together is so important. If I could rewind my marriage and start that practice earlier, I would do it in a second.

No matter how long you've been married, now is the time to develop a pattern that can work in your marriage. Remember, it's a husband who ought to initiate this.

"A man may not be a vocational theologian," says Doug Wilson, author of Reforming Marriage.

"But in his home, he needs to be the resident theologian."

Lead With Humility

The reason there is such a debate about whether men ought to be leaders in a marriage relationship is because too many men have not led with humility.

Men may be called by God to lead their wives, but our leadership should be selfless.

Philippians 2:3 says, "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves" (New International Version).

Put this verse into practice, and it will solve 95 percent of the issues you face.

I have never met a woman who says, "I resist my husband's leadership even though he is very humble and Christlike."

The women I've met are craving godly leadership in their marriages.

Be a Godly, Courageous Man

First Corinthians 16:13 gives a clear definition of biblical masculinity: "Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong". Before we can be godly husbands, we must be men of courage.

Wrapped up in that definition of what it means to be a man is the idea of courage.

And the essence of courage is to have such a great fear of God that you fear nothing else.

Be a Provider

The husband should bear the primary responsibility for the financial needs of the home.

In fact, 1 Timothy 5:8 says if a man fails to provide for his household, he is worse than a pagan. That's not the kind of reputation I want to have in the community.

Part of the root meaning for the word provider means "to look ahead."

A provider is one who anticipates and does the strategic planning for the household. He thinks about the goals. Not just the financial goals, but the spiritual goals and emotional goals.

In a sense, he is chief executive officer of the corporation. It's his responsibility to set the direction.

And many times his wife is the chief operating officer. The 2 of them need to unify their direction for the good of the family.

Love God More Than You Love Your Wife

After 3 years of dating Mary Ann, we began to talk about marriage. A little while later we broke up. I was devastated.

While praying one night, things became crystal clear: Mary Ann had become an idol in my life. I cared more about what made her happy than what made God happy.

It was as if God were saying, "You will have no other gods before me, and if you put something or someone else in My place, I will remove it."

In 25 years of marriage, I still run into the same problem. I keep myself in check with this question: Whom do I fear more: my wife or God?

The level of pain may be more immediate or more pronounced when I don't please my wife. Because when I don't please God, He doesn't go into the other room and get silent on me says Bob Lepine.

But God reminds me, "You do the right thing, even if, for the moment, it doesn't make her happy."

Love Her Biblically and Extravagantly

To love her biblically, we need to ask, "What is God's love for us like?" The essence of His love for us is reflected in His commitment to us and His sacrifice for us. That's what our love for our wife needs to look like too.

For me, it often means placing her needs ahead of my own. And it means that I will still sacrifice for her even when we disagree. She must be my priority.

Remember the little line in the marriage vow, "Forsaking all others, until death do us part"?

That means your relationship with your wife is more important than any other relationship -- friends, your boss or even your children.

Put simply, we must love our wives more than anything on earth; that is the essence of the marriage relationship.

D.L. Moody summed it up best: "If I want to find out whether a man was a Christian, I wouldn't go to a minister; I'd go and ask his wife.

If a man doesn't treat his wife right, I don't want to hear him talk about Christianity. What is the use of talking about salvation for the next life if he has no salvation for this life?"

This past May, Mary Ann and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary in Maui, Hawaii. The surroundings were incredible, but really we were just happy to be together.

Over dinner that night, we could both say that in spite of any challenges that have come our way, we wouldn't change the outcome of our shared 25 years.

That's because God has used our relationship with each other more than anything else to make us more like Christ. And ultimately, that is His purpose for marriage.

Traits of a Godly Wife

You only get one chance in life to build a wonderful, Biblical marriage. It is worth the wait. Don’t squander one of the greatest areas of life by doing your own thing instead of God’s.

What traits should a woman strive towards to become a godly wife? Here are twelve:

1) A Godly Woman Always Seeks to be Modest in Her Dress. Then out came a woman to meet him, dressed like a prostitute and with crafty intent. (NIV). (Proverbs 7:10)

By contrast, the ungodly woman's clothing points to herself and her body instead of her Father in Heaven and His holiness. Remember the words of Paul in the New Testament? God emphasizes a beauty of the unseen character. The flesh flaunts the body, God beautifies the spirit. I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes (1 Timothy 2:9, NIV).

2) A Godly Woman Always Seeks to be Holy in Her Conduct. Come, let's drink deep of love till morning; let's enjoy ourselves with love! My husband is not at home; he has gone on a long journey… (Proverbs 7:18 - 29, NIV)

A godly woman fears the Lord. She seeks God's will over the approval of anyone else on earth. Her fear of God makes her aware of the future consequence of her choices. A godly woman avoids any present situation that would be destructive for her future usefulness to God. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body. (1 Corinthians 6:19-20, NIV)

3) A Godly Woman Always Seeks to be Truthful in Speech and Motives. With her enticing speech she caused him to yield, With her flattering lips she seduced him. Immediately he went after her, as an ox goes to the slaughter, Or as a fool to the correction of the stocks, Till an arrow struck his liver. As a bird hastens to the snare, He did not know it [would cost] his life. (Proverbs 7:21-23,NKJV)

This deceitful woman is an ugly woman because she is self-driven and wants her way. Her words and actions lead the man on a path to destruction. A beautiful woman wears heavenly beauty as God's Word describes it.

4) A Godly Woman Seeks to be Gentle and Quiet. The woman Folly is loud; she is undisciplined and without knowledge. (Proverbs 9:13, NIV) She is loud and defiant, her feet never stay at home (Proverbs 7:11 NIV)

This includes disrespect, hostility, aggressiveness and cunningness. All of these qualities are bad news.

And the Lord's servant must not quarrel; instead, he must be kind to everyone, able to teach, not resentful. (2 Timothy 2:24, NIV)

Wives, likewise, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not obey the word, they, without a word, may be won by the conduct of their wives, when they observe your chaste conduct accompanied by fear. Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel— rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God. For in this manner, in former times, the holy women who trusted in God also adorned themselves, being submissive to their own husbands, as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, whose daughters you are if you do good and are not afraid with any terror. Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered. (1 Peter 3:1-7)

Moms and dads, what kind of woman are you raising? A wise woman or a foolish one? Does she dress in a way that draws a young man to think about her body and its enticements or her spirit and its beauty? Does she have a holy hatred of sin? Does she use her powers to get her own way? Does she manipulate by tears, looks and whatever it takes to accomplish her ends? Is she argumentative, easily quarreling and fighting with you or her brothers and sisters?

Or is she peaceable, gentle and easily entreated? If negative traits become ingrained in her character, the future could be at stake. One gifted expositor in writing about these verses said, “ ...we may say with a surgeon’s frankness, her home will be like Scarlett’s -- troubled, torn down, and literally Gone with the Wind.”

5) A Godly Woman Seeks to Care for the Home. She seeks wool and flax, And willingly works with her hands. (Proverbs 31:13, NKJV)

She manages her home well (Titus 2:5.) She loves to tangibly serve others with food and skills. She has a home that is open and hospitable and she is given to ministry to the sick and needy and less fortunate.

6) A Godly Woman Seeks to Serve Others. She also rises while it is yet night, and provides food for her household, and a portion for her maidservants. She extends her hand to the poor, yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy. (Proverbs 31:15, 20, NKJV) She has learned the love of Christ for others.

7) A Godly Woman Strives to be a Person Who Can be Trusted. The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life (Proverbs 31:11-16).

8) A Godly Woman Seeks to be Prudent in Financial Matters. She considers a field and buys it; from her profits she plants a vineyard. She makes linen garments and sells [them,] and supplies sashes for the merchants. (Proverbs 31:16, 24, NKJV) She is a saver not a spender. She can see beyond today alone.

9) A Godly Woman Seeks to be a Hard Worker. She girds herself with strength, and strengthens her arms. She stretches out her hands to the distaff, and her hand holds the spindle. (Proverbs 31:17,19, NKJV) God puts a premium on hard work and so she moves toward it not away. There is no slothfulness, indolence or lack of motivation.

10) A Godly Woman Seeks to Do the Right Thing and Have a Good Reputation. Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land. (Proverbs 31:23)

Moreover he must have a good testimony among those who are outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil. (1 Timothy 3:7)

Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her (Proverbs 31:28).

11) A Godly Woman Seeks to Internalize Biblical Wisdom. She opens her mouth with wisdom, And on her tongue [is] the law of kindness. (Proverbs 31:26, NKJV). The Word is in her heart and life and so it comes out of her mouth. And when it does it is dressed in the clothes of the Spirit, gentle and kind.

12) A Godly Woman Seeks to Live Out the Secrets of Womanhood. Strength and honor [are] her clothing; She shall rejoice in time to come (Proverbs 31:25, NKJV). The future smiles at her and her children bless her.

Is there any comparison? This kind of woman and daughter is a blessing to all. A builder of the home, family and community.

Ways to Avoid Cancer

Most cancers don’t develop overnight or out of nowhere. Cancer is largely predictable, the end result of a decades-long process, but just a few simple changes in your daily life can significantly reduce your risk.

Most cases of cancer develop over the course of decades, and can be attributed to various factors in a person's life, like their diet, their genetics, and their environment. This article will teach you some simple lifestyle choices you can make to dramatically reduce your risk for developing certain cancers.

Avoiding Carcinogens

A carcinogen is any substance that has been linked with the onset of cancer in both human and animal subjects. Carcinogens do not always cause cancer, and some carcinogens are more harmful than others.

Cut down on smoked or pickled foods. Studies have shown that foods like smoked salmon and pickles contain trace levels of carcinogens.

Reduce your intake of alcohol. When alcohol breaks down in the body, it releases a chemical that can cause DNA damage, which could eventually lead to the onset of various cancers.

Avoid excess sugar. Cancer cells feed off of glucose, which helps tumors grow faster and spread more rapidly throughout the body. Beware of hidden sugars in bread, salad dressings, and cooking sauces.

Opt for honey over white sugar when possible.

Stay away from artificial sweeteners. Ironically, both natural and synthetic sweeteners may be cancerous. Artificial sweeteners were linked with the onset of bladder cancer in animal subjects.

Reduce your intake of acrylamide. This carcinogenic substance appears naturally in certain foods when cooked at a high temperature. Foods that are high in amino acids and/or carbohydrates are prone to developing acrylamide when fried, baked, or roasted. The following are examples of such foods

French fries.
Roasted coffee.
Toast.
Baked goods.
Popcorn.
Pretzels.
Pizza.
Peanut butter.

Always be wary of packaged foods that claim to be "natural" or "fat-free." This doesn't necessarily mean they are healthy; in fact, many of them still contain harmful chemicals.
Parents should instill healthy eating habits in their children from a young age.
Early detection is key in preventing the spread of cancer. You should have routine checkups with your primary care physician.

The best way to prevent cancer is to find a healthy level of moderation in your life when it comes to both food and physical activity. Constantly depriving yourself of foods and drinks that you love will take a lot of the joy out of life. Learn to be healthy but enjoy yourself at the same time.

Just How Bad Are Extensions for Your Hair?

Hair extensions have become the must-have accessory for most women, Now more and more women are following suit and using the extensions at home and work. Some as young as 19 are experiencing the dangerous side effects that come with trying to transform one's natural hair with hair pieces that make their hair longer and fuller.

This week a hair loss expert at the London Centre of Trichology came out and said that in the last two years, he's seen a 15 percent increase in women seeking treatment after damaging their hair with glue extensions—which he now believes should be straight-up banned before they scalp more women. The trichologist told the BBC that the extension-related hair loss is traction alopecia, which is a condition caused when too much tension is regularly placed on the hair roots, pulling out the hairs, and damaging the follicles permanently. Yikes!
Badly fitted hair extensions can cause traction alopecia and, in recent years, the media has increasingly highlighted various celebrities suffering from the condition after hair extension use.

The prolonged traction (or stress on the hair) loosens the hair from its follicular roots and eventually, if not recognised early, the prolonged traction causes irreversible traction alopecia.

In addition, breakage of the hair close to the root can result, particularly when individual glued or bonded hair extensions fall out or are "lost".

The removal of bonded or glued hair extensions is generally undertaken using the combination of an acetone-like chemical and a pair of flat pliers.

The hair is "picked at" - a bit like removing chewing gum - to remove the extension and, of course, if not done by someone particularly skilled in removal, can also result in damage or breakage.

And, because the natural hair without extensions looks so different - particularly where breakage has occured - some girls become trapped in an endless cycle of damaging hair extension application because they "can't bear" to see their hair without the extensions.

Of course, any hair extension method in the wrong hands has the potential for damage, particularly when too much extension hair is applied to too little of your own hair.

In recent years, there's been an increase in methods using clips or rings that are used to "clamp" the extension hair to the existing hair.  By their nature, these too can cause breakage and traction alopecia.

This condition must be recognised early and, either hair extension use should be stopped or an alternative and less stressful method used to prevent continued breakage; or, worse, potential permanent hair loss.

Disadvantages Of Hair Extensions

It is a well known fact that hair extensions can do damage to your natural hair. The glue that is attached to your natural hair can burn and split the ends of your hair. This means that you will almost always be required to have the ends of your hair cut after the extensions are removed.

Also, if a lot of long or heavy extensions are added, this applies additional pressure to your scalp. One of the dangers of extra pressure to your scalp can be a thinning of your natural hair. In some cases there have been reports of headaches from the added weight of the hair or allergies to the bonding glue that is used.

Everyone is different and will react to hair extensions in a different way. They are not necessarily good or bad. It depends on a number of factors that you have to consider.

If you are trying to grow your hair long, you might want to think seriously of the potential damage the hair extensions could do to your long hair quest. However, if you only would like a new look for a few months and are prepared to lose some inches along with the extensions, they can be a great solution.

Even celebrities are experiencing difficulties related to hair extensions.

"Nothing destroys your hair faster than hair extensions," Jennifer Aniston, whose own shag-style cut in the '90s sparked a worldwide hair craze, told Harper's Bazaar magazine in a 2006 interview. "I decided to have a couple of extensions, never knowing you end up with 400 things in your hair that cause your hair to break off."

Kate's First Appearance Since Birth Of George

Looking slim and relaxed, the Duchess of Cambridge has appeared in public for the first time since giving birth to Prince George.
Kate joined William as he launches the gruelling, three-day annual "ultra" marathon run around the coast of the island of Anglesey, North Wales.

The Duke was attending one of his final public engagements on the island as his time there with the RAF comes to an end.
The couple met some of the runners and their families and volunteers before the start - but they did not take Prince George along.

Kate said her son was doing "very well" and that he was sleeping.
"Hopefully he'll be like that for a little bit longer," added the Duchess.
She was also overheard telling well-wishers: "He's very sweet".
William was introduced to a child called George. "Hello, George," he said. "...much larger than our George."
The annual event - known as the Ring O' Fire - is a 135-mile foot race around the rugged coast, staged over three days and including 13,695 feet of ascent.

The presence of Kate was a surprise - it was revealed only on Friday morning that she would be joining her husband.
A fortnight ago, William said a public goodbye to Wales as he confirmed his young family would be leaving their Anglesey home and moving "elsewhere" when his posting comes to an end this month, having completed his three-year tour of duty as an RAF search and rescue helicopter pilot based at RAF Valley.
He is widely expected to leave North Wales and return to London with Kate and their baby son to take on more royal duties rather than stay in the service.

At the Anglesey Show, he spoke movingly about his time on the island, saying he would miss living and working in the area "terribly" and joked about the demands of looking after a newborn baby with Kate.
With the birth of George last month, the Cambridges are now a family unit and their Kensington Palace apartment is expected to become their main home.

How to get rid of your holiday debts

If you’ve overspent on your holiday, the relaxing time you enjoyed while you were away could now be replaced by anxiety and fear.
It’s easy to get carried away when you’re away from home and there’s a card to put everything on.

Draw up a budget now
You may not have done it on holiday, but now is the time to sit down and work out how much you’re spending and what you’re spending it on. Write down all your expenditure, from your mortgage/rent right down to that chocolate bar you bought on your way home one night.
Look for areas you can cut back on to free up some money to pay off your holiday spending.

Sell some stuff
If you have CDs you don't listen to, DVDs you don't watch or clothes lying around that you don't wear anymore then you could sell them to help pay off your debt.

Use a loan
You should try to avoid paying off your debt with a loan if at all possible, especially a payday loan, unless you’ve racked up big debts. If that’s the case, you should cut up your credit cards, draw up a budget and stick to it.
Otherwise, you face the prospect of still paying your debt off for several summers to come.

Use an overdraft
Another, potentially free option if you have a good credit rating is to switch banks to one that offers an interest- and fee-free overdraft.

Breast Cancer Link To Alcohol Before Pregnancy

Breast cancer has been linked to the amount of alcohol a woman consumes before her first pregnancy.
A new study - based on findings from 91,000 women - has found that higher levels of drinking before motherhood increase the risk of the disease.
Every 10 grammes per day in alcohol consumption - just over one unit, or a small glass of wine - raises the risk of breast cancer by 11%.
For women with an intake of at least 15 grammes of alcohol per day - roughly two units or a medium sized glass of wine - the risk is 34% higher than for non-drinkers.
Writing in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, the researchers, led by Dr Ying Liu from Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis, US, said: "The longer the duration of menarche (first period) to first pregnancy, the higher is a woman's risk of breast cancer.
"Compared with non-drinkers with a shorter duration, non-drinkers with duration of 10 or more years between menarche and first pregnancy had 26% and 81% increased risk of breast cancer and proliferative BBD in our analysis respectively."
A woman's breast tissue is believed to be especially sensitive to cancer triggers between the start of menstrual periods and first pregnancy.
Women who never have children, or delay becoming pregnant, were already known to be more susceptible to breast cancer.
Alcohol consumption between menarche - or first period - and first pregnancy also raised the risk of benign breast disease (BBD), the research found.
The scientists used data from the Nurses' Health Study II, a major American study of health and lifestyle in female registered nurses.
Among those with a history of full-term pregnancy, 1,609 cases of breast cancer and 970 cases of BBD were recorded.
"Reducing alcohol consumption during this period may be an effective prevention strategy," the researchers concluded.

Water found on moon

An orbiting spacecraft has detected water on the moon - and scientists believe that it came from a mystery source deep beneath the lunar surface.

An orbiting spacecraft has detected water on the moon - and scientists believe that it came from a mystery source deep beneath the lunar surface.

It’s the first time “magmatic” water - water from deep inside the moon - has been detected from orbit.

Samples of water had been found on the moon by the Apollo missions, but scientists believed for decades that they must have been contamination carried from Earth.

The new find, by NASA's Moon Mineralogy Mapper (M3) instrument aboard the Indian Space Research Organization's Chandrayaan-1 spacecraft, is the first evidence of water coming from inside the moon.

The finding could throw light on the origins of the moon - and on what lies underneath the surface.

The scientists imaged a crater, Bullialdus, near the lunar equator - where debris from deep beneath the surface had been blasted out by an ancient impact.

The central peak of the crater is made up of a type of rock that forms deep within the lunar crust and mantle from trapped magma.

"This rock, which normally resides deep beneath the surface, was excavated from the lunar depths by the impact that formed Bullialdus crater," said Rachel Klima, a planetary geologist at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL).

"Compared to its surroundings, we found that the central portion of this crater contains a significant amount of hydroxyl - a molecule consisting of one oxygen atom and one hydrogen atom -- which is evidence that the rocks in this crater contain water that originated beneath the lunar surface," Klima said.

For many years, researchers believed that the rocks from the moon were bone-dry and any water detected in the Apollo samples had to be contamination from Earth.

"Now that we have detected water that is likely from the interior of the moon, we can start to compare this water with other characteristics of the lunar surface," said Klima. "This internal magmatic water also provides clues about the moon's volcanic processes and internal composition, which helps us address questions about how the moon formed, and how magmatic processes changed as it cooled.

Further research will help scientists pinpoint where the water comes from - and where it might still exist in the moon’s rocks, NASA says.

"This impressive research confirms earlier lab analyses of Apollo samples, and will help broaden our understanding of how this water originated and where it might exist in the lunar mantle," said NASA Lunar Science Institute Director Yvonne Pendleton.
